Tweet Dreams

Yesterday, Book of Biff creator Chris Hallbeck posted the following on Twitter:
This morning I woke up from a dream about twitter. #whatdoesitmean

And sure enough, after reading that, I myself dreamed about Twitter last night. I dreamed about retweeting a Theater Hopper strip for Wednesday's Pick of the Day; I forget exactly what the joke was, but in classic form, TH cartoonist Tom Brazelton was making fun of his inner Iron Man fanboy. I then dreamed about reading a webcomic titled "Terry and John's Guide to Time Travel," in which the titular characters attempt every bad time travel idea in the book. The particular strip I read featured Terry going back in time to try to eat his past self alive.

What the crud, subconscious.

The Pick-of-the-Day Project

It's been awhile since I did a genuine, bona fide week-in-review update--and I've got a special feature planned for this Friday, so it'll be longer still--but you can still get my recommendations of the best of the recent best. I update my Twitter with a "Pick of the Day," my favorite strip from my regularly-checked webcomics (and whatever others I may happen to read that day). If you need your recommendation fix, just tune in on Twitter.

Whenever a strip you read is particularly good, I'd like to encourage you to do a Pick of the Day of your own! Just tweet it up with a link to the comic, and hashtags #webcomics and #pickoftheday so that it's easy for us to pick up your recommendations. I look forward to seeing what you've got to recommend, and I'll see you all on Friday with a brand-new special feature!

7/31: Bullet Points

Today's full-length post will go up later today. But until then: the news goes bang.

More words about webcomics later today. And as always, you can follow my Twitter for links to new TWIW posts, daily updates with the "webcomic Pick of the Day," and inane babbling about Disgaea 2 and sandwiches. I'll see you in the future!

Welcome Back, Me

Hi, all. As you already know if you've been scoping out my Twitter Feed over there in the sidebar, I have returned from my vacation at the Outer Banks, which was excellent. I don't think a single day went by that I didn't see at least one helicopter. But now I'm back to my usual Pick of the Day and babbling about webcomics.

Tune in on Friday for the customary week-in-review. Plus, I'd like to share an interesting resource with you: if you haven't seen it already, The Webcomic Crossover & Cameo Archive is a handy repository of comic characters' appearances outside their comics of origin. It's fun to see what other comics your favorite characters have made guest appearances in. If that sounds interesting to you, go ahead and give it a look.

A Useful Use for Twitter

Some of you may have noticed, in the bottom corner of the right-hand sidebar, my Twitter feed. Well, last night I finally thought of a use for it besides telling you I'm at work or playing racquetball, or how much I hate doing taxes. Every day, at the end of the day, I will post a link to what I consider the best webcomic update for that day! I read a lot of webcomics, but there are even more webcomics that I don't read, so I may from time to time miss the funniest thing on the internet. If you are following me on Twitter, you can gently step in and inform me that no, Starslip Crisis was not in fact as good as Gunnerkrigg Court on Wednesday the 16th.

Twitter strikes me as optimal for this sort of dialogue. So, here we are: let's get to tweeting.
